Sinking Ship

This painting is an introspective, dark piece that will surely engage anyone who likes art that sparks deep conversations and can be studied for hours, exploring the emotional content of the scene at hand. Sinking Ship is an abstract painting in some ways, such as its nondescript setting, and emphasis on emotion rather than form. Yet, the scene we are presented with here is rather concrete for an abstract artwork. An interesting aspect of this painting is the lack of solid subjects and the way in which the artist has relied on the brush strokes to give the painting shape. This style works very effectively to blend the scenes together and to create multiple shapes and sections that the individual must navigate. This piece utilizes disparate colors- from rust browns, light blues, oranges and highlights of white and black to achieve its isolated, somber ambiance. The painting presents the viewer with a no concrete subject yet portrays figures such as a ladder form, swirls, checkers and random shapes. The figures are rendered unique in comparison to the one next to it as well as the natural world around it. Despite being small, the figures are still each unique to the piece and most interesting and eye catching, that will catch the viewer and hold their attention and stand out against the colors of the world around it.

The deep tones of Sinking Ship and its very expressive, emotional content make it well suited for a home or another intimate setting that you would like to add a painting with rich colors and an evocative subject to. This original canvas artwork is available on four canvases that is the perfect platform for the smooth brush strokes of this piece and the points as with the disparate colors meet and blend together. The size of this painting allow it to attractively fill a number of wall spaces and its colors harmonize with many others.
