Diego Rivera Paintings

Mexican art has two notable contributors that we can all enjoy today, namely Frida Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera who both had exceptional careers offering innovation and qualities that very few others artists have ever managed. Rivera was a proud communist who would often try to impress his strong views on others and he used his art career as a way of building connections and found this an excellent way of getting to mix in impressive social circles.

Rivera's murals marked him out in a way which is always refered to today and these were produced in Mexico and regularly featured aspects of the loves of poor people, which this artist always felt a considerable connection to and he found inspiration from them for his art, which he always intended to use to send out messages to others.

It is always pleasing to see an artist who has a message that they want to convey to others, particularly when it is about caring for the poorer elements of society when previously artists have often only cared about those at the top of society, as they felt these people could further their own lives or that they made better subjects for art works.

Check out all of the following as examples of the fine work of Diego Rivera: The Great City of Tenochtilan, Flower Festival: Feast of Santa Anita, Nina En Azul Y Blanco, Baile en Tehauntepec, Disembarkation of the Spanish at Veracruz, Muchacha con Girasoles, Nude with Calla Lilies, Baile en Tehauntepec, El Vendedor de Alcatraces, La Noche de Los Pobres, The Zapotec Civilization, Vendadora de Alcatraces, The Flower Vendor, The Flower Carrier, Vendedora de Alcatraces, Peasants Retrato de Ignacio, Muchacho Mexicano, Mother's Helper and Vendedora de Pinas.

There is so much to learn from this exceptional artist who gave the western world new ideas which inspired many whilst others who incorporate some of these innovations into their own work. There is also much to see from the wife of Diego Rivera, namely Frida Kahlo who was an exciting artist who would use all of her emotions with in them, which attracted an audience all of her own.

Recent years have given us some great exhibitions of paintings by both Diego Rivera and also Frida Kahlo and these have also encouraged people to buy reproductions of some of their best work, with posters, framed art prints and stretched canvases all becoming quite popular with art fans all across the globe.
