Simplify the Painting with Spray Paints

Spray painting is a technique of painting in which paint is sprayed through a device onto a surface in air. This method is used to paint or varnish a material. Compress air is used to automize and direct the paint articles. Spray guns are commonly used under this method of painting. The guns are available in different sizes and are selected according to the paint pattern and the area to be painted. Air gun is used on the equipments that are generally big in size and shape for their even coating. It covers the large surface and takes comparatively less time.

Spray paints guns are either automated or hand-held with interchangeable heads to execute different spray patterns. These are portable and easy to store. Different colors are available in spray painting. One of the most commonly used colors is black. The sprays are of high quality, fast drying paint and it is suitable for both interior and exterior use. Some sprays are CFC-free and contain no such particles that can damage the ozone, which makes them perfect for both industrial and home use. Some of them are water resistant as well. Apart from this there are various other colors as well which are commonly used like blue, green, red, white, yellow etc.

The spray paints are used for several purposes. Apart from industrial usage these are used for hobby and decoration purposes. Many children prefer these paints for decoration as these are easy to use and take less time. In the field of art and crafts these colors are widely used to beautify the crafted creations. The other related purposes are stenciling, wood, glass, concrete and metal painting etc. the spray paints becomes oil resistant as well, after the ink gets dry.

The one who is using these spray colors should be also be aware of the harmful constituents used in the same. The colors contain xylene or toluene, which is a toxic component. While using these, a person has to wear a mask, so that, he should not consume the lethal elements. Moreover, he should also wear gloves to protect the hands from absorption of the chemical substances through skin.

The gun which is used in spray painting has a nozzle, paint basin and an air compressor. On pressing the trigger the paint gets mixed up with the compressed air and releases a fine spray. Different size and shapes are available for the nozzles which are generally selected according to the size of the equipment to be painted. The nozzles that are commonly being used are the full cone, hollow cone, and flat stream nozzles.

During manual spray painting the gun is held by the person at a distance for about 6 to 10 inches from the targeted article and with a back and forth movement the painting procedure is executed to ensure even coating on the surface.

Spray paints have a lot of different uses, but, it has to be used with cautions so that it should not give adverse results. A person has to follow the safety measures, to protect him from harmful substances present in the paint composition.

Paints Can Provide Not Only Protection but Beauty

Paints have always been part of society's attempt to modify its surroundings and impose a measure of control. Be it practical or aesthetic in nature, people have always relied on paints for preservation of culture, expression of thoughts and impressions of beauty. It's very rare for any community to exude and convey any positive message without the aid of colour. Made of pigments, binders, resins, solvents and additives, paint is one of the most abundant liquid apart from water and fossil fuel that have been as integral part of any society.

Different from the paints that are used in works of art, industrial coating has a niche all its own. Defined more by its protective properties than its beauty although it can exhibit both, these kinds of paint are used mainly on buildings. They provide:

• Protection from water/rain and other elements

• They protect metals from corrosive material/substances

• They provide protection from fire

• They sometimes provide insulation

Since they are classified as industrial type, this kind of paint is used commonly in:

• Buildings, houses and other similar structures
o They can be used more particularly in beams, metal armatures, support frames, railings, building walls, ceilings

• They are also used in floors especially on some garage and sports facilities that need glossy but non-slippery surfaces

They can be applied using paintbrush, roller or pressure tank outfitted airbrush tools.

Anyone that is attempting to use these should know that there more than one usage of paint and that there are dozens of special paints out there. Using the right one does not only guarantee protection but beauty as well. On the other hand, using the wrong one accidentally can result in hundreds of dollars loss. In this day of countless innovations and attempts to be globally responsible, painting a building is not as simple as buying gallons of paint and applying them as you wish. There are now options, apart from colour, surface bonding, quality of finish and brand, such as dust and graffiti resistance and environment friendliness.

Previously thought of as an oxymoron, there is now such a thing as a safe and environment friendly paint.

Some buildings or vehicles are even coated in an anti-fouling paint.

Modern buildings now are very rarely seen without an elastomeric coating. Using elastomeric paint can render any building waterproof and thus protected from elements longer. Waterproofing is just another way of saying the building should be coated with paint that is resistant to elements, should not flex, flake or fade over time. Whether you use it as wall or roof paint, it is important to make sure that your supplier provides you with the correct type of paint.

When choosing the paint supplier for you, take note that they not only carry good selection of paints but also consider if they can suggest new-age solutions as the previously mentioned elastomeric paint, infrared heat reflective coating or those that are low in VOCs. A company that does all these things are ones that know how to make any building look as elegant and attractive as possible while contributing to the social responsibility that we all share.
