You have so many choices to make with your home theater. What kind of projector do you want to get? Is surround sound really worth all the money? Do you want to use a normal projector screen or home theater screen paint?
Choosing the perfect home theater seats is just as important as choosing the right speakers. After all, it would be hard to enjoy that surround sound if you are squirming to get comfortable.
Here are some things to take into consideration when choosing your perfect home theater seat:
Comfort. You have to be comfortable when watching a movie, especially at home! Think about it: you are going to be spending at least two hours in this seat. And if you're not comfortable you won't be able to concentrate on your movie. So, make sure the seats you buy are comfortable.
Fabric. Make sure you are choosing a fabric to fit your needs. If you want the most comfortable option, you will probably want to go with microfiber. But if you want something that is easy to clean, leather is a good option because spills will wipe off easily, and not soak in. Which is nice, because you're probably going to be watching your movies in the dark!
Reclining. To recline or not to recline? I think reclining seats are the most comfortable, I definitely like to put my feet up when I watch a movie. But, if you are like me, you also might have the problem of falling asleep easily in movies. So, if you think that might be a possibility, then maybe choose seats that don't recline, so that it is easier for you to stay awake!
Sofa or Individual Seats? Looking at photos of home theaters, you'll see a fairly even mix of large sofas, and individual seats. If you will usually be watching with your family, I recommend getting a large sofa, because then you can all sit close to each other. But, if you are having neighbors, etc over, it might be nice to let everyone have their own individual seat.
Theme. Think of the theme of your home theater. If you are going with a comfy, cozy atmosphere, then you'll want to choose comfy, overstuffed seating. If you want your theme to look closer to a traditional movie theater, then you'll want to choose more sleek, square seating.
Size/Number of Seats. With a sofa, what size you choose is also important. You don't want something so big that you can't get around it, but you also want to make sure that you can comfortably sit everyone that will be watching the movie. If you are choosing individual seats, make sure you have enough seats for everyone. If you will usually have a smaller group watching, but you also want to have comfortable seating available on the odd occasion that you have a larger group come over, you can purchase a large bean bag or comfy pillows and let people sit on those when you have more people than usual.
